OVERVIEW
Recognised within the National Football Development Plan as an area of absolute priority, effective coach education is vital in maximising the enjoyment of players as well as their overall technical development.
The objective of the Capital Football State Coaching Conference is to provide further education and development opportunities for coaches in ACT and capital region. Coaches operating at all levels of the game will be able to attend and choose practical sessions and lectures that are relevant to their needs and those of their players.
The concept of the FFA State Coaching Conferences was first developed after the National Coaching Conferences in 2008, 2009 and 2010 in Sydney and Brisbane.
Following a series of FFA consultations with key stakeholders it was identified that the conferences needed to be more accessible to more coaches so from 2011 conferences will be delivered by State Federations with the assistance of the FFA.
The Capital Football State Coaching Conference is suitable for coaches of all levels of experience and accreditation. The conference will feature a highly credentialed team of national technical presenters.
The agenda will incorporate both theory and practical sessions with a focus on the FFA National Curriculum. Attendance at the conference will also count for 50 Points towards coaching re-accreditation for coaches holding advanced coaching licences .
