Sarah Schoonwater

Sarah is a solicitor with Slater Gordon Lawyers and was previously Secretary of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) from 2007-2010. She has a background as an industrial officer with several Unions including the Public Sector Union as well as extensive experience in the Government sector including overseeing the amalgamation of various authorities to become larger entities.

Sarah completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) with the University of New England in 2006 and has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wollongong. She has wide-ranging Board and Governance experience through her roles as Chair of various types of companies, associations and statutory authorities. As a former member of the Tradies Group she assisted with the transition from an association to a company limited by guarantee.

Sarah enjoys a number of sport and physical activities and she played football as a goal-keeper in the Canberra league as well as Sydney competitions.
