Rachel Harrigan

Rachel was elected as President of the Capital Football Board in 2011. Her election as President was a milestone for the world game in Australia as she is the first female President of a member Federation. Rachel has served on the Board for eight years, the last four as Vice-President. Prior to her involvement with the Capital Football Board she served on the Board of Women’s Soccer Canberra.
 
As a qualified psychologist, Rachel worked with the ACT Academy of Sport program in the mid-nineties and was selected to the role of Sport Psychologist for the national women’s team, the Matildas, travelling as a member of the squad to the 1999 FIFA World Cup in USA and the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. She recently completed a Masters Degree in Business Management to go with a Masters Degree in Psychology.
 
Rachel plays in the women’s masters competition for the Belsouth Old Chooks.
