Player Development Programs- FootballOverviewCapital Football’s High Performance Programs cater for talented football players from the Australian Capital Territory and the surrounding regions as part of the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Talented Player Pathway. Developed in line with the FFA National Curriculum, Capital Football offers a number of programs for both male and female players from Under 9 to 17 throughout the course of the year. Capital Football’s High Performance Programs are divided into three separate programs, the Skill Acquisition Porgram, State Team Programs and Centre of Development. The Centre of Development is a user pay program for players seeking to further develop their individual playing skills while also learning the 1-4-3-3 playing structure in preparation for possible selection into Skill Acquisition or State Team squads. Capital Football’s Skill Acqusition Program is for the most talented players in the ACT and surrounding region aged between 9 and 13, while State Teams represent Capital Football at Football Federation Australia's National Championships.
FFA National CurriculumThe FFA National Curriculum has been developed to provide a soundly based, consistent, coordinated national Talent Development and Identification program. The National Curriculum provides the frame work for coach and player development for all of Australian Football.
Capital Football’s Technical Director is responsible for the implementation of the National Curriculum for the ACT and surrounding regions. As part of this implementation Capital Football has restructured its player development and representative programs to incorporate the National Curriculum. All training with Capital Football will now follow the principals set out by the curriculum and use exercises and programs developed by FFA.
The National Curriculum also provides a defined pathway for talented male and female players through a series of accredited programs. Capital Football’s provides programs in line with this pathway through its development and representative programs and teams.
