Football-Connect All Ability Football Programs

OUR COMMITMENT

As a sport, Football Federation Australia (FFA) values inclusion, fairness, excellence and fun.  These values apply across all levels of the game – from junior clubs through to the elite levels of the sport.

FFA strongly supports the right of people with disabilities to participate in football as players, coaches, referees or administrators and we are committed to developing an environment where accessibility and diversity are valued and nurtured. Capital Football are committed to increasing football opportunities for people with disability in the ACT and therefore increase the participation of people with all abilities in football in the Territory.

Football- Connect 2012 ALL ABILITY League

Football For EVERYONE "This is My Club!"

In 2011 Capital Football in conjunction with Weston Creek Soccer Club (South Canberra) and Belconnen United/Belnorth Football Club (North Canberra) launched a Football league specifically catering for athletes of All abilities. Participants were allocated a club close to where they live, received their own club shirt, attended weekly training sessions and participated in football matches weekly throughout the season with their own team at the Hawker Football Centre.

The season commenced with just three teams (Belconnen/Weston Creek/Gungahlin) and fifteen players so to make sure everyone played in a competitve match each week the league invited a challenge team from the local community to take on one of the Football-Connect teams. With unprecedented numbers of player registrations as the weeks went on Majura and Woden Valley were quickly added to the expanded competition schedule meaning the league finished the last 5 rounds with 5 teams and a total of 45 registered players. 2011 season in review

2012 promises to be even bigger and better with the Pre-Season Come and Try period set for May and the season launch scheduled for June. The Kanga Cup (Australia's Biggest Football Tournament) has also introduced a disability division in 2012 giving Football-Connect teams an opportunity to test themselves against teams from around Australia in the July school Holidays.

Football Connect individual player registrations are accepted online on an ongoing basis throughout the season. Just click on the link  below to register for free. We are also looking for some volunteer coaches/managers to help with each team. Please let us know if you are interested in taking on one of these roles.

Football-Connect Futsal Fives SUMMER LEAGUE  2012

"Football-Connect Futsal Fives" introduces everyone to the five-a side indoor version of football in a fun, fast paced and friendly environment. Futsal Fives is open to players of all abilities and requires no previous experience.

The futsal league will take place at the MPowerdome in Fadden on Sunday evenings throughout October and November. Each week teams will play a 30 minute game against another football-connect registered team.
